entrails (2024)

Body is an archive that stores both internal experiences and external collective imprints. The performance sheds light on the clash between individual and collective, internal and external, hidden desires and existing reality, using the Latvian contemporary dance scene as a metaphor. It is still following its path of emancipation in Latvian cultural policy. The show gives meaning to the subjective, honors the body, unleashes the voice and highlights the everyday life of independent artists – doing several things at once, burning out, fighting for their industry, constantly daring and adapting at the same time.
